" Nurturing Young Creative Minds "

SINDEX logo is derived by the adoption of a component (a pencil attached with a light bulb) of the winning entry of the lower secondary student, Fung Lim Fung of SMK Sung Siew, Sandakan and incorporating other features after close consultation with Datuk Yaman Mus, Director of Sabah Art Gallery. The SINDEX Organizing Committee finally approved and adopted the logo from 12 various designs during its meeting held on 25 May 2000.
The logo is simple but unique reflecting the objectives of SINDEX. The logo graphic is designed with bright colors in order to attract to our targeted group, New Generation and also to stimulate their inspiration and creative minds. The logo is to be suitable to fit well in any medium.

Pencil is one basic writing tools signifying the learning, education and invention processes.
Light bulb is the notable invention made by the famous invention Guru and a role model, Thomas Edison. The filament is made up to 6 little words “SINDEX” which serves as the source of light signifying that SINDEX shall groom inventors. The bright light generating from the light bulb signifies the importance and benefit of invention to mankind and also symbolizes the bright future of our New Generation.
The electrons and their orbits represent Science and Technology.
The graphic of the Mount Kinabalu, the renowned landmark of Sabah and also the highest mountain in SEA, is set as the background to signify that SINDEX is paving way for our New Generation and to prepare them in building our future with a greater height especially in the science and technology. The stripes also represent steps symbolizing that this process takes place steps by steps. The stripes also signify the ever moving and advancement of science and technology to benefit mankind.
Bright and contrast colours are used to signify our vibrant and dynamic new generation. The bright colours mean the bright side of the science and technology that better our life. Warm colours used are red and yellow. Warm colours speed up our perception of time and produce feelings that are warm, cozy, and inviting. These colours are associated with happiness and comfort. Cool colour used is blue. Red stands for truth, passion, strength, courage and fire. Yellow produces sensations of brightness and warmth. It is a spiritual colour that is the symbol of radiant goodness. Blue stands for heaven, divinity, and divine love. It is the symbol of wisdom and the colour of hope and generosity. In other perception blue colour means technology… or hi-tech. White is the purest of all colours and a symbol of purity.
