Towards an industrialised State by the year 2015.

 

.:: MISSION ::.

To develop a dynamic and sustainable industrial sector through investment promotions as well as entrepreneurial and industrial infrastructural development.

 

.:: OBJECTIVE ::.

• To accelarate the growth of manufacturing sector in order to ensure a ccontinued rapid expansion of State's economy and to provide the basis for attaining the social development consistent with the policies of the Government;

• To enhance and coordinate the promotion of investment opportunities for the efficient utilization of the State's natural resources;

• To encourage the active participation of Bumiputera in trade and industry; and

• To encourage further downstream processing of Sabah natural resources into higher value-added and knowledge-intensive products.

 

.:: FUNCTION ::.

• Planning and formulating Sabah's industrial development policies;

• Planning, monitoring, and accelarating industrial development in State;

• Encouraging and assisting local and foreign investors;

• Assisting and encouraging Bumiputera participation in trade and industry;

• Encouraging and accelarating development of industries in the rural areas; and

• Coordinating and encouraging development of small and medium industries.
