.:: I N T R O D U C T I O N ::.

Established in October 1971, the Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) has undergone many changes both in name and functions. Through Government Gazette in 1989 the functions and responsibilities of the Ministry of Industrial Development are as follows:-

To co-ordinate, implement, conduct research and monitor all activities on industrial development in Sabah:
To oversee industrial training in the state;
To accelerate the development of industries in the rural areas; and
To co-ordinate all activities regarding the State's interest in trade and industry.
