THE SABAH INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART FESTIVAL

The staging of the Festival in Sabah Malaysia will certainly provide an important platform for the invited international folk artists the opportunities of showcasing and sharing their varied and unique masterpieces. The gathering of these artists and their art works in this country will undoubtedly bring greater understanding and appreciation of their effort towards the promotion of a better co-operation and relationship between the countries. Sabah International Folk Art Festival is truly meant to be an East- West Cultural rendezvous in promoting peace through culture.

The main objective of the Sabah International Folklore Festival is to promote culture tourism among participating countries and to introduce the state’s unique creative visual product onto the international tourism area. SIFF provides the opportunity to witness and enjoy the unique and authentic aesthetic exhibition from various countries. Long lists of cultural display are drawn up to be staged at different venues in the state capital.

The main objectives of the event are :

  • To promote understanding and goodwill
  • To celebrate mankind brotherhood through cultures
  • To promote culture tourism among participating countries, and
  • To promote Sabah as an attractive tourists destinations in Asia; Malaysia Truly Asia.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SABAH INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART FESTIVAL?

We are inviting folk artists (painters) around the globe to participate in this festival. Starting from this year, the organiser is making this festival as an annual event which is part of the Sabah International Folklore Festival.
