This is to inform the public that the Environmental Protection Department is in the process of reviewing the draft Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Special Environmental Impact Assessment (SEIA) Report for  "Logging And Forest - Related Activities Of 234,552 Hectares Within Forest Management Units FMU 8 & FMU 13, Pensiangan, Sabah By Idris Hydraulic (Malaysia) Berhad".

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY SCHOOL AWARD PROGRAMME IN CONJUNCTION WITH MALAYSIA ENVIRONMENT WEEK 2005
Schools are one of the best places to mould the next generations to appreciate and care for the environment. Schools can shape or form an individual’s personality and perception towards the environment. Schools in Sabah have started to integrate efforts in environmental protection and conservation amongst the students and to create generations of people who appreciate the environment. Therefore, the Environmentally Friendly School Award is introduced to appreciate the sincere efforts and contributions by the schools in promoting environmental education and awareness.

This programme is jointly organised by the Environment Protection Department, Department of Environment, Sabah Education Department, Environmental Action Committee (EAC), Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary, Sabah Forestry Department, Science and Technology Unit and SHELL Malaysia. The SERASI Award Ceremony will be held on 14 January 2006 in Kota Kinabalu.

THE 3rd SABAH ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS 2005
Environmental Action Committee Sabah, is a smart partnership between the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Environment, Sabah Environmental Protection Association, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Local Authorities, Government Agencies, Corporate and Private Sectors, Non-Governmental Organizations and people from all sectors of the Community, is pleased to announce that The 3rd Sabah Environmental Awards 2005 is now opened for nomination. This event is to honour those who excel in their services and contributions to the environment in Sabah. A total of nine awards are available for nominations under the Individual and Organization categories. The winners will be announced at The 3rd Sabah Environmental Recognition Night 2005 to be held at The Grand Ballroom, Magellan Sutera Hotel and Spa on the 09 July 2005, Saturday.
