TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN PENAMPANG DISTRICT IN CONJUNCTION WITH WORLD ENVIRONMENT
DAY 2004
The United Nations (UN) designated 5 June as the World Environment Day to deepen public awareness of the need to preserve and enhance the environment. To commemorate this event, various activities are organised annually such as cleaning up, exhibition, drawing and colouring competition, roadshows to schools, quiz and talks. FRIENDLY SCHOOL AWARD IN CONJUNCTION WITH MALAYSIA ENVIRONMENT WEEK 2004
Schools are the best place to mould the next generations to appreciate and care for the environment. Schools can shape or form an individual’s personality and perception towards the environment. Schools in Sabah have started to integrate efforts in environmental protection and conservation amongst the students and to create generations of people who appreciate the environment. Therefore, the Environmentally Friendly School Award is introduced to appreciate the sincere efforts and contributions by the schools in promoting environmental education and awareness.
