Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman made a brief visit today to the district of Beaufort, Sipitang and Kuala Penyu to inspect development projects in the districts. In Beaufort, the Chief Minister was briefed on the flood mitigation project by Department of Irrigation and Drainage District Engineer, Fadzilah Hj. Abdul Ghani when he went to inspect the project at the bank of Padas River in Beaufort. Musa also visited St. Paul Primary School where he was briefed by District Officer, Wong Foo Tin on the condition of the school. In Sipitang, Musa was brought by the Member of Parliament Datuk Sapawi Hj. Ahmad to the district esplanade which in stages of development to become the district landmark. Musa wind up his tour by visiting the district of Kuala Penyu where he was brought to inspect the on going construction of fish landing jetty and a bridge linking Kuala Penyu town to Pimping. The Kuala Penyu bridge, the longest in Sabah measuring 1.2 Kilometer is expected to be completed in October this year. Musa was accompanied by Finance Ministry Permanent Secretrary Datuk Pengiran Hassanel Datuk Hj. Mohd.Tahir and the State Inspector General for Project Datuk Amir Kahar Tun Datu Mustapha on his visits to the districts.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Hj Aman having a dialogue with a 20 delegation member from National Professor Council (MPN) in Sandakan today. During the one hour dialogue, Musa said the session was timely in terms of getting feedback and input to further improve upon the concept of the Sandakan Education Hub. He said the idea of the hub was sparked off by the desire to give locals an opportunity to easily acquire accessible and affordable higher education. 'This is the original intention. So our youths do not have to go overseas or even leave the state to get tertiary education'. Musa said the MPN delegation also had an opportunity to listen to a briefing by the Forestry Dept and learn about Sabah's conservation and policies and programmes including collaborations with international NGOs.

Meanwhile, Chairman of MPN Prof Emeritus Dato Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid said the dialogue was the first time that the Council has had the opportunity to directly interact with the top leadership of a state. 'I consider this forum to be crucial. This is healthy...to exchange views.' He also commended the CM for being sensitive to the importance of the developing human capital. 'We congratulate your foresight on establishing the education hub. One cannot go wrong with the development human capital.' All 20 members of the delegation had the opportunity to give their feedback and air their views based on their visit to and briefing on edu hub. MPN was launched by the PM a year and comprise 1600 professors from 20 public universities throughout Msia.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman speaking to the owner whose home at Kg. Sungai Kayu, Sandakan was partially destroyed by strong winds in the district recently. The home was one of the several homes damaged by Saturday night's storm. Musa assured the owners that the government would continue to assist those whose homes and property destroyed by natural disasters including floods and strong winds.

Chief Minster Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman who is also the Sabah UMNO chief, cutting "pulut kuning" at a celebration to commemorate his 60th birthday which falls on the 30th of last month. The event organised by Sabah UMNO at the party headquarters in Karamunsing on Wednesday night was attended by state UMNO leaders. Looking on is his wife Datin Seri Panglima Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin.
