The Artist
Daiman who hails from Tuaran did work in an advertising firm before he joined the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd, as an electrician. His childhood interest in art coupled with his stint at the advertising agency motivated his to take up art more seriously and led his to join the weekly painting workshop at the gallery.
Daiman appeared in the local art scene only after his relatively short involvement in the Weekly
Art Workshop, which is organized by the Sabah Art Gallery, a section in the Sabah Cultural Board. The weekly workshop which is conducted by Encik Dzulkifli Abd. Rahman every Saturday morning at the Sabah Museum ground has been responsible in grooming up few young talents like his this new comer.
His involvement with the painting workshop has enabled his to produce paintings for group exhibition for the workshop participants occasionally since 1998. Like the other participants of the workshop Daiman choose to paint in watercolor. However he is more versatile in handling and presenting wider range of form and subject matter; such as object, nature, landscape, figure, patterns and so on.
